As a teenager, Pierre Vignaud crossed path with a cabinet maker. Something clicked. He then majored in philosophy for his high school graduation degree, got a professional qualification as a cabinetmaker and carpenter and studied management at the university. He joined the workshop of a furniture restorer where he learned marquetry. Cabinetmaker since 1982, Pierre Vignaud was 51 years old when he created Ludijouet: a workshop where he reproduces historical toys – practical, but first and foremost exceptional objects.

Know-how

Pierre Vignaud favors the work with local wood species, from fruit trees. In his workshop, he mainly chooses his subjects depending on their historical and artistical interest. Cabinetmaking, turning, sculpture, decoration, patina…everything goes through his hands, his skills, his know-how. He shapes wood with passion. A raw material that inspires him and allows him to give life to funny race cars, animals and other spinning-tops.
